An Invitation to my Food Adventure

At the beginning of August I have decided to embark on a culinary cycling adventure across Britain. I will be cycling an average of 40 miles a day and stopping off at producers, cafés, restaurants and forests to discover Britain’s hidden food gems and cook along the way.

The plan is to start at Lowestoft from the furthest possible point East of England and travel across to the most Westernly point in St David’s Head, Wales; details are below.
The complete journey will be done solely by myself, but the intention is that friends, family, and anyone else can join me for a day or several if they so wish, so ask around if you know anyone who would/could join in! I will be raising money for the British Heart Foundation whilst I cycle in memory of my father.

The plan is:

05.08.12 Lowestoft – Thetford [via Stradbroke for a visit to my Aunty at the farm!]
06.08.12 Thetford – Cambridge
07.08.12 Cambridge – Milton Keynes
08.08.12 Milton Keynes - Oxford
09.08.12 Oxford – Cirencester
10.08.12 Cirencester – Bath
11.08.12 Bath– Patchway station
Train from Patchway – Severn Tunnel Junction [this is to avoid cycling on the motorway!]
Severn Tunnel Junction - Newport
12.08.12 Newport - Neath
13.08.12 Neath - St Clears
14.08.12 St Clears -  The End!! St David’s head as far to the sea as possible!

And if you know any places that I can visit along the way please let me know!
